Michel Berandi is an independent fashion label founded by French designer Michel Berandi in Los Angeles in the mid 2000s.

Before launching his own label, Berandi worked with Jeff Sebelia on Cosa Nostra, a Los Angeles based label known for reconstructed vintage clothing, leather, and rock inspired designs. Through Cosa Nostra, he became connected to LA’s underground rock and fashion scene.

Michel Berandi launched his namesake label around 2004–2005, developing a more refined and couture-oriented approach while maintaining strong influences from Goth, Rock, Biker, and underground culture.

His designs are characterized by heavily constructed leather pieces, asymmetrical tailoring, elongated silhouettes, sculptural cuts, and dark, gothic elements. He was also known for incorporating skeleton and insect inspired forms into his designs.

The brand was stocked by select retailers including Maxfield, Harvey Nichols Hong Kong, and Beams, and gained attention among musicians and artists. Adam Lambert notably wore a Michel Berandi coat during his time on American Idol.

Berandi continued working in Los Angeles with a highly artisanal, small scale approach rather than pursuing mass production. His work was later featured in exhibitions and fashion publications, including the California Design Biennial.

Today, Michel Berandi is considered a relatively obscure 2000s LA archive label, particularly interesting for collectors interested in the intersection of Goth, Rock, Biker, and avant garde fashion.
